“It Could Have Been a Different Story for Everyone”: Anna Hakobyan
The wife of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Anna Hakobyan, has written on her Facebook page:
“In Singapore, a woman with five children was arrested for the second time for stealing baby formula from a store. This police officer, as noted in the article, being the father of two children and understanding the value of baby formula, took a series of actions that were not part of his job responsibilities. He visited that family, advised them to utilize a social program of which they were unaware. The officer was rewarded by the state, and that woman was freed from the necessity of stealing baby food from the store. Furthermore, the newspaper allocated resources for and dedicated space to this article, allowing us to learn about this story.
It could have been a different story for everyone: instead of individual efforts, a collective senseless uproar could have erupted on Facebook, the mother would have continued stealing and been arrested again, and the newspapers would have served up fabrications and garbage to the public instead of articles.”
