We Are Grateful to Armenia: Lukashenko

On behalf of the Belarusian delegation, I would like to express my gratitude to the Armenian side and to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for the warm reception, said Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at the extended session of the Eurasian Economic Union's Supreme Council.

“We are grateful to Armenia for its efforts to strengthen integration during its presidency in the EAEU,” he stated.

Lukashenko recalled that in his speech regarding the priorities for 2019, Pashinyan had noted the development of trade relations with third countries.

“In this context, it is necessary to positively assess the preparedness for a temporary agreement on the establishment of a free trade zone with Iran, which will come into effect in October. The package of agreements with Singapore is also important for us. Iran and Singapore are very significant partners for us, and the potential for growth in economic ties is enormous,” said the Belarusian President.
