Video: Endless Queues and Queue-Cutting Drivers Near the Traffic Police

Aurora News has recently received a video from a citizen that shows the endless line of vehicles waiting in front of the Traffic Police's registration-examination unit in Yerevan, along with drivers who are cutting in line.

We recall that days ago, Aurora Media sent an open letter addressed to the Acting Chief of Police of Armenia, First Deputy Police Chief Arman Sargsyan, and the Head of the Traffic Police, Egor Karapetyan, regarding this issue.

The open letter is presented below:

Dear Mr. Sargsyan, Mr. Karapetyan,

The issue of 'queue-holding for money' at the Traffic Police's registration-examination unit in Yerevan has become so pressing that citizens are calling the Aurora radio newsroom daily with numerous complaints. Considering the endless queues caused by certain circumstances and analyzing the content of the calls we have received, we propose that the Traffic Police’s registration-examination unit in Yerevan set conditional paid working hours from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM. We assure you that citizens would rather allocate that money to the state budget than to individuals who not only engage in illegal activities but also cause disputes on-site. We also note that this way, citizens would be able to avoid queues to some extent.
