Jacques Chirac Buried in Paris' Montparnasse Cemetery Next to His Elder Daughter
Former French President Jacques Chirac has been buried in Montparnasse Cemetery in Paris, next to his elder daughter Laurence, who passed away in 2016, reports Tert.am.
According to РИА Новости, citing French sources, the burial ceremony took place in absolute secrecy. Being buried next to his daughter was Chirac's last wish.
It is noteworthy that Monday has been declared a national day of mourning in France.
Jacques Chirac served as the President of France from 1995 to 2007. Prior to that, he was the Prime Minister and served as the Mayor of Paris for 18 years. He passed away on September 26 at the age of 86. He would have turned 87 on November 29.
