100 Disabled Soldiers Receive Rehabilitation Treatment with Funding from the 'My Step' Foundation
The 'My Step' Foundation has enabled 100 individuals with disabilities, who were injured during military service, to receive rehabilitation treatment at the 'Homeland Defender Rehabilitation Center'. Upcoming openings include new rooms for speech therapy, psychological support, and a new kinesiotherapy hall.
According to Gayané Ghazaryan, the coordinator of Social and Health Programs at the foundation, this information was shared during a meeting with journalists, as reported by Armenpress:
"Our main program in the healthcare sector is focused on the rehabilitation of soldiers who have been injured and disabled as a result of military service. This is accomplished by funding the 'Homeland Defender' rehabilitation center. The center not only provides rehabilitation treatment for the soldiers but also works on their social adaptation and integration, as well as the development of new skills. This approach is very important for us. With our funding, already 100 soldiers have received rehabilitation treatment at the center, including dental care and medications," said Ghazaryan.
She noted that dental care is often not included in services at many foreign rehabilitation centers. At the center, eight new rooms have already been opened, new medical equipment has been purchased, and the staff has been fully trained. An intensive therapy department has also been opened, and the main section of the building has been reinforced.
"The opening of the new speech therapy room, the new psychological support room, and the new kinesiotherapy hall is already in progress. For all these developments, 155 million drams have already been allocated to the rehabilitation center," Ghazaryan stated.
