Video: We are doing significant work for the welfare of our soldiers, Grigoryan

It is very important the capabilities that Armenia has periodically acquired over the past 1.5 years, among which the most significant are the Su-30SM jets. This was stated today, on September 25, during a live Facebook broadcast by the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan.

“As you know, Armenia has decided to acquire 4 Su-30SMs, which will be a vital component for ensuring the security of Armenia. In this regard, we have made significant progress. In addition, we have achieved advances in other directions, some of which have been mentioned by the Ministry of Defense, but our armament is continuously being updated,” he noted.

Armen Grigoryan emphasized that it is crucial that “we think not only about hard power, but also the other components that have a positive impact on security. This is about the welfare of our soldiers, officers, and generals, for whose well-being we are doing significant work. These actions positively affect the operation of security structures.”

He expressed confidence that the recent salary increases have provided a positive impulse to the army, also offering great opportunities for attracting new personnel and enhancing the army's capabilities. “The change in the diet is also very important, which has been implemented in Armenia. This has a positive impact on the service of our soldiers. We hope that very soon we will be able to ensure this new mechanism in all military units. This will again be an opportunity to ensure the welfare of our soldiers, officers, and generals,” highlighted the Secretary of the Security Council.

He underscored the military exercises that began on September 24 and stressed the public’s response to these exercises: “The public's trust in the government provides a great opportunity for enhancing security.”

The Secretary of the Security Council also emphasized the ongoing road construction in the country. “This year, 330 kilometers of roads will be constructed in Armenia, which is important from a security perspective, as good roads create wider opportunities for troop movements.”

He recalled the “North-South” road for comparison. “Our opposition often refers to a government of youth and tries to portray this negatively, but it is precisely this youth government that has achieved results in road construction that no previous government, regardless of their experience, could achieve. Moreover, if we compare the ‘North-South’ project with the work done currently, we will see that the previous authorities outlined the ‘North-South’ road, tried to construct it, which required $600 million for more than 570 kilometers of road; they spent $180 million and constructed only 30 kilometers, while the youth government has built 330 kilometers of roads in just one year. The difference is fantastic. It turns out that being young is a great advantage.
