Show Business Representative Fails to Pay 21 Million Dram in Taxes
The State Revenue Committee, considering the partner relations between tax bodies and taxpayers, has repeatedly urged those engaged in entrepreneurship in the show business sector—singers, musicians, hosts, and others involved in similar activities—to obtain state registration, register with tax authorities, honestly declare their income, and pay taxes in accordance with the Tax Code.
However, there are still individuals who have not responded to the committee's call and have failed to declare their income and pay taxes, the SRC reports.
In this situation, tax monitoring measures have been implemented by the subdivisions of the State Revenue Committee. It has been revealed that a representative of the Armenian show business, during the years 2017-2019, had approximately 384 million 600 thousand AMD in business income but did not declare it, resulting in a failure to pay more than 21 million AMD in taxes to the state budget of Armenia.
A criminal case has been initiated based on materials prepared by the investigation and operational intelligence department No. 10 of the SRC regarding the illegal entrepreneurial activity.
The State Revenue Committee once again urges those engaged in entrepreneurial activities in the show business sector to declare their income and pay taxes in accordance with the rules and timelines established by the Tax Code.
