Illegal Constructions to Be Transferred to Communities
The National Assembly's Territorial Administration Committee is discussing a draft today that aims to finalize the policy regarding the fate of illegal constructions. Those illegal constructions that do not contradict regulations may be privatized.
On the other hand, illegal constructions that do not meet the standards will be transferred to the community as public property.
In the case of Yerevan, the number of such constructions is estimated at around 35,000. This figure was presented by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Vahe Terteryan.
He explained that even now, these illegal constructions, including garages, are declared as community property, but the passing of the law will allow for the legal formalization of this status.
After this, the occupants of the constructions will be able to negotiate with the community and simply rent these constructions until the community decides their fate.
