168 Hours: City Hall Pays 31 Million AMD for Electronic Voting System

168 Hours newspaper reports: Yerevan City Hall has paid 31 million AMD from the city budget for an interactive electronic voting system in the City Council chamber. This was confirmed by the Department of Information and Public Relations of the City Hall in response to a query from 168.am.

The launch of the electronic voting system was announced by Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan at the beginning of the council meeting on September 10. “Voting will not be manual but will simply involve touching the screen; it's not even a button, it's a touch screen. We have advanced further right away,” Marutyan stated.

In the spring, the City Hall organized a tender for the acquisition of the system. Two companies participated: Oasis Computer LLC and Melinet LLC. The contract was awarded to Oasis Computer, which provided the lowest bid.
