In anticipation of the upcoming meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in New York, facilitated by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, the heads of the foreign affairs departments clarified their positions on the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and related agenda items.
Minister Mnatsakanyan reaffirmed that the security and status of the people of Artsakh are priorities for Armenia, highlighting the crucial importance of Artsakh’s decisive voice and involvement as a main party to the conflict for ensuring the effectiveness of the peace process.
Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Masis Mayilian also exchanged views on issues related to creating an atmosphere conducive to peace, noting that the destructive statements made by Azerbaijani authorities for their domestic audience do not contribute to the commitment to prepare the peoples for peace.
