MP Responds to News of His Wife Joining the National Assembly
MP Vahagn Tevosyan wrote on his Facebook page: “The wife of the MP from the ‘My Step’ faction has been appointed as a referent to the Speaker of the National Assembly. This is a headline. And it is true. There is nothing unusual about this headline, except for the fact that the mother of my children, Lusine Barseghyan, has 20 years of professional experience (journalist, editor, editor-in-chief). After leaving ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’, she was invited to work without going through the traditional procedure of ‘husband’s consent’ and it would be disrespectful if anyone tried to ‘place’ her in a job. :) Dear press, please respect the people you know, at least respect your profession and those who carry it! :) I would also add: try to respect women’s independence and the purely theoretical possibility in your assumptions that husbands don’t poke their noses into their wives’ affairs.”
It is worth noting that the newspaper 'Hraparak' reported today that the Speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan has appointed Lusine Barseghyan, who is the wife of MP Vahagn Tevosyan from the ‘My Step’ faction, as his referent.
