Bako Sahakyan Summoned for Interrogation
The newspaper "Jaghhovurd" reports that according to its information, the investigative body has summoned Major General Samvel Karapetyan (Oganovski) again regarding the separated part of the March 1 case. Moreover, according to the information we received, the Investigative Committee has also summoned the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Bako Sahakyan, for questioning.
In order to clarify this information, the "Jaghhovurd" newspaper initially contacted Bako Sahakyan's press secretary, David Babayan, asking whether Bako Sahakyan had received a notice to appear for interrogation. David Babayan replied that he was not aware of it.
Although the investigative body refused to respond to whether the President of Artsakh, Bako Sahakyan, had been summoned for questioning, or if Samvel Karapetyan had appeared before the investigative body, and ultimately whether Vitaly Balasanyan had been interrogated in the Investigative Committee, the "Jaghhovurd" newspaper has gained some insights into the investigation of the separated part of the March 1 case.
Specifically, the newspaper has determined what direction the investigative body is taking regarding the investigation of the separated part of the criminal case of March 1. According to our information, the individuals summoned for questioning were asked about the origin of the weapons given to the military units coming from Artsakh, as well as what funds were distributed.
According to the information we received, those who were questioned responded to the investigative body's inquiries by saying that there were contract servicemen in Artsakh who were supposed to receive their salaries on March 1-2, but did not receive them because they had been brought to the capital due to the events unfolding in Yerevan. Therefore, the funds that were given in Yerevan were their accessible salaries, which they had not been able to receive in Artsakh. However, it should be noted that according to the information from "Jaghhovurd", the investigative body has evidence that the contractual servicemen were given much more money than what they were due to receive as salary.
