Video: I don’t know of any leader’s children in Armenia who walk around with such security - Samsayan

The son of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who was supposed to be at a military unit, was seen walking in the streets of Yerevan with a security detail of 10-20 individuals. Who needs such leadership? This was stated by Narek Samsayan, the president of the Civil Consciousness NGO, during a Facebook live stream where he filmed the Prime Minister's children walking with bodyguards, prompting the police to prepare to search his vehicle.

“After filming, I reached home, and the police called me, saying let’s meet, just to talk. I am sure they wanted to convince me to delete the video. They thought I was an ordinary citizen who would delete it and move on. Because Ashot Pashinyan was walking in Yerevan, they didn't want to drag the Ministry of Defense into it. The police have been turned into their personal belongings,” said Samsayan.

“When Nikol Pashinyan sent his son to the army, they had practiced together, he went live and Ashot said he was going to serve and protect the borders. Everyone felt secure with Ashot at the border, I felt safe too, but, in fact, Ashot is not there. Now we cannot find out because we have a Ministry of Defense that is also acting as a subordinate to this man, fulfilling whims. After the regime change, I will personally report how much time Ashot Pashinyan has spent at the military unit,” he remarked.

Samsayan pointed out the possibility that Ashot Pashinyan might also serve in the military with bodyguards. He also mentioned that initially, when he saw the people walking, he couldn't imagine that it could be Ashot.

“I don’t know of any leader’s children in Armenia who walk around with such security. Three cars, four bodyguards standing next to them. This is absurd, the children of the beloved Prime Minister are walking among us with the guards of the 10th department paid by taxes. How much fear is there in people? I feel sorry for that fear because the authority has become corrupt in a very short period,” he noted.

Samsayan explained that at that hour, nothing was happening, and walking with bodyguards was pointless in such circumstances. Such actions taken by the Prime Minister's family will soon lead to public hatred.
