The Food Safety Inspection Body Encourages and Supports Sellers of Slaughterhouse-Origin Meat and Meat Products

The Food Safety Inspection Body reminds that Armenian legislation stipulates a mandatory requirement for slaughterhouse-origin meat, which will be compulsory for all operators in the food chain starting from January 15, 2020. According to Armenpress, the inspection body is doing its utmost to ensure a smooth process.

As a 100% slaughterhouse-origin meat and meat product consumer, the inspection body has provided relevant informational labels and a certificate to the founder of the 'Art Lunch' brand, Ready Steady LLC.

Consumers are urged to pay attention to the presence of these labels in sales networks and public catering establishments. It confirms that the meat procurement process by that organization has been verified by a controller, and the meat sold there confidently has slaughterhouse origin.

The Food Safety Inspection Body has also launched a platform on its website, snund.am, where you can see which organizations are already selling or consuming safe, slaughterhouse-origin meat and meat products.

We advise businesses operating in sales networks and the public catering sector to get in touch with slaughterhouses or secondary suppliers that sell exclusively fresh meat of slaughterhouse origin.
