«Zhamanak». Kocharian's 'Supporters' for a Million: New Activists Being Sought
«Zhamanak» newspaper reports: Former President Robert Kocharian, charged in the March 1 case, has regularized the payment of activists. According to information we have received, each group leader is paid half a million drams a month. The group leader is responsible for ensuring the participation of activists during demonstrations. After each event, participants receive their due payments.
We have learned that office managers and previously recognized political figures supporting Kocharian receive even larger sums. The money is distributed by Armen Tavadyan, while the actions of the activists are organized personally by Kocharian's son, Levon Kocharian, and his son-in-law, Vigen Chatinyan.
Sources tell us that, following the resumption of the trial, Kocharian's team is actively engaged in searching for new activists. They understand that the trial will be prolonged and that those shouting 'hero' outside the courthouse won't last long.
Interestingly, despite the Prime Minister's spokesperson stating that Kocharian is being supported financially, the National Security Service has yet to disclose any evidence of such large sums in circulation.
