Video: Foreign Woman Arrested in Gyumri
On September 12, officers from the Main Department of Criminal Investigation of the Police, the Shirak Regional Department, and the Kumayri Division of Gyumri conducted joint operational and investigative measures and received information that a foreign woman in Gyumri had circulated a counterfeit banknote worth 500 euros on September 8.
The police reported that the 40-year-old woman was swiftly located and taken to the Kumayri Division under suspicion. A 56-year-old man living in Gyumri, to whom the woman had presented the counterfeit euro, was also summoned to the police station. The banknote was seized and sent for examination.
According to the conclusions of the forensic and document examination, the initial information from the criminal investigation officers was confirmed: the euro was counterfeit. A decision was made to arrest the woman at the Kumayri Division of Police.
During a personal search, she was found in possession of 6,500 euros, 825 dollars, and 184,000 drams. The banknotes were confiscated for further actions. The investigation continues.
