The Story of a Drop of Honey Ends in Stabbing: The Father-in-law Dies in Hospital
Today, on September 11, 70-year-old Volodya Harutyunyan passed away in the hospital. He had been transferred there on August 30, diagnosed with a "non-penetrating stab wound to the right flank, a cut wound on the first finger of the right hand, and a lacerated wound in the anterior region of the neck." According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, on August 30, around 22:50, the Vedi medical center informed the Ararat police department that Volodya Harutyunyan from the village of Pkokh Vedi had been transferred to them with the aforementioned injuries.
The police discovered that on the same day, around 22:30, during an unfounded argument near an apricot garden at the outskirts of Pkokh Vedi village, Harutyunyan's former son-in-law, 44-year-old Hakob Altunyan, a resident of the same village, stabbed Harutyunyan, inflicting the injuries mentioned. On the same day, within a short time, the Ararat police, led by department head Vahan Aghgashyan, located Altunyan and took him into custody. The police also found the knife used in the crime.
According to G. Shamshyan, the criminal case initiated regarding the incident will be transferred to the Ararat regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
