Mikhran Poghosyan Has Not Received Political Asylum in Russia
The former head of the National Security Service and former MP Mikhran Poghosyan, who is wanted by Armenian law enforcement agencies, has not received political asylum in Russia.
This was stated today, September 11, during a press conference following a roundtable discussion dedicated to World War II by Sergey Kopirkin, the ambassador of Russia to Armenia.
“If a person is in Russia, it does not mean that they have received political asylum. As for Poghosyan, according to the information I have, a legal process is underway, with the transfer of relevant documents,” noted the head of the Russian diplomatic mission.
Regarding Vahagn Harutyunyan, the former head of the investigative team for the March 1 case, who is also in Russia, Ambassador Kopirkin advised him to apply to the appropriate authorities.
