David Sanasaryan, the head of the State Environmental Inspectorate, whose powers have been temporarily suspended, wrote on his Facebook page: "Thinking about a worst-case scenario, I wonder how Lydian will manage earthquake risks and how governmental bodies will oversee the associated risks.
Perhaps humanity is almost powerless against natural disasters, but we know not to touch iron or iron-containing trees during lightning; so why are we risking our lives, the lives of officials, and crushing nature while giving a green light to normal destructive chaos? I cannot find an answer.
It's not just about Amulsar and nature; it's about the road leading to desolation and the abyss. We need to reflect on all this once more: friends, risks are unmanageable, and they are greater than you can imagine… Nature sometimes sends us warnings; we should not ignore nature's signals…"
