Former Ambassador Records Realities Without Specifying Causes or Guilty Parties: "Hraparak"

The newspaper "Hraparak" writes in its editorial: "Former Ambassador of Armenia to the Vatican, Mikayel Minasian, who is better known as the son-in-law of Serzh Sargsyan, gave an impromptu and emotionally charged speech that was recorded at an amateur level and disseminated through one of his preferred media outlets. He addressed several domestic political issues.

The main point is that what happened in Armenia was not a revolution, but a meaningless change; the new government continues the old regime and has changed nothing, while the country is heading towards an inevitable disaster. Thus, it turns out that the newcomers did not alter the ‘line’ of the predecessors, and this ‘line’ will lead to catastrophe, meaning that the former leaders were driving the country towards ruin.

This is just one aspect. The former ambassador, having evidently made a political statement, also records realities without mentioning causes or guilty parties. For example, he declares that ‘there was an anticipation of change in the air, which has now transformed into a wait for disaster.’ And not a word, for instance, about why the anticipation of revolution had formed in the country. Perhaps the reason is that there were no chances to implement changes through elections? Maybe people had come to believe that the party of the former ambassador’s brother-in-law could ‘hit any percentage they wanted’ during elections? Or perhaps the last drop that filled people’s cup of patience was Serzh Sargsyan’s dissatisfaction with the presidential term and his decision to change the constitution and lead the country as prime minister... But Minasian, of course, will not speak about that. The former authorities, you see, were managing the country properly, but suddenly, just like that, an anticipation for a revolution formed out of ‘thin air.’"
