Balasanyan Explains Why He Did Not Attend the Investigation by the Special Investigative Service

The former Secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh, Vitaly Balasanyan, has released a statement explaining why he did not attend the investigation by the Special Investigative Service (SIS) and what information he possesses about the events of March 1-2, 2008.

In his letter, Balasanyan clarified that he could not attend the inquiry because he received the notification after the specified deadline. Moreover, he has no intention of attending the questioning in the future as he will be busy addressing, in his words, important daily issues.

The retired general also indicated that he presumes he was summoned for questioning to clarify his information regarding the events of March 1, and that the pretext for this summons was a recent interview in which he claimed to have information that Levon Ter-Petrosyan was the organizer of the shootings.

In his letter, Balasanyan explained that he had recently discovered this information from videos that appeared online, and since he was not in Yerevan during the events of March 1-2, he has no additional information or new revelations to provide. Balasanyan noted that he has also attached the videos he referenced in his accusatory statements.
