Restrictions on Driving Licenses in Russia Apply Only to Armenia, Says Shavarsh Kocharian

The National Assembly continues its session. Today, Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharian is answering questions from MPs. MP Vagharchak Hakobyan inquired about the status of Armenian citizens' driving license issues in Russia.

Kocharian noted that yesterday there was a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Council in Moscow, where this issue was on the agenda. “This matter is being discussed in two directions: multilaterally and bilaterally. Multilaterally, as the relevant agreement does not provide for restrictions under the Eurasian Economic Union. Bilaterally, because this restriction has been implemented under the respective Russian law, and the law has been adopted in such a way that the restriction applies only to Armenia among the member states. Work is ongoing in this direction, and we hope to achieve results,” he said.
