Nearly 30 Aftershocks: Governor at the Seismic Protection Center
The Governor of Shirak, Tigran Petrosyan, reported from the northern regional center of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations' Seismic Protection Service on his Facebook page.
"From the first tremor until 21:30, there have been approximately 30 aftershocks, the dynamics of which and other seismic measurements suggest that the process is in decline. According to the results of our discussions at the governor's office, there are no damages in Shirak province as a result of the earthquake. This was yet another serious signal for all of us to remain vigilant and prepared. Good night," he wrote.
It is worth reminding that today, on September 10, at 20:22 local time (16:22 GMT), an earthquake was registered by the Seismic Protection Service's seismological network at geographical coordinates of 41.080° N latitude and 43.940° E longitude (13 km northeast of the Bavra village in the Armenia-Georgia border area), with a depth of 10 km and a magnitude of 4.8. This information was provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations' press service.
The intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral zone reached 6-7 points. According to preliminary data, the earthquake was felt in the Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Aragatsotn, Armavir provinces, and in Yerevan.
