‘Jhoghovourd’. Veteran Officials in the Ministry of Defense Against Tonoyan

‘Jhoghovourd’ newspaper reports: Since the Velvet Revolution, David Tonoyan, who became the Minister of Defense, has initiated a series of major reforms. However, these moves have not been well-received by veteran officials in the Ministry of Defense. According to the information obtained by ‘Jhoghovourd’, the issue mainly concerns the procurement process for goods supplied to the army.

Tonoyan has attempted to put an end to the schemes where individuals connected to officials emerge as the winners in the procurement process. Recently, the process of supplying necessary goods to the army and signing contracts has slightly delayed, and several large suppliers have stated that certain officials from the Ministry of Defense said, ‘Give the money for the necessary goods for the army, and only then will we announce the new procurement competition, which you will win.’ Upon learning of this process, Minister Tonoyan has halted it, and as a result of this action, according to our sources, one official from the Ministry of Defense has been dismissed from their position.
