Criminal Case Initiated Following the Death of 24-Year-Old Giver
The Central and Norq-Marash administrative districts of the RA Investigative Committee are conducting an investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman during childbirth at a medical center. This was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
On September 2, 2019, at 19:30, a call was received at the RA Police regarding a woman who died during childbirth in the hospital; her sister, Luiza Avetisyan, was the one who reported the incident. According to preliminary data, Luiza Avetisyan, born in 1995, died on September 2, 2019, at 16:26 during a cesarean section at the "Mother and Child Health Protection Research Center." Considering that the report contained elements of a crime as defined by the RA Criminal Code, a criminal case was initiated under the second part of Article 130 of the RA Criminal Code, and it was sent to the Investigative Committee’s Central and Norq-Marash investigative division for further investigation.
During the preliminary investigation, necessary investigative and procedural actions were carried out, including the seizure of the woman’s personal medical card, the medical documents relevant to her case, and taking explanations. A forensic medical examination has been appointed to clarify circumstances significant to the criminal case. The investigation is ongoing, and information about procedural decisions based on the collected evidence will be provided subsequently.
