BMW X5 Turns to Ashes After Collision with KamAZ; Driver's Charred Body Recovered
A severe and tragic car accident occurred today, September 10, in the Kotayk region. Around 7:10 AM, the Ministry of Emergency Situations' rescue service and the Road Police received an alert about a vehicle burning on the Yerevan-Sevan highway, specifically in the administrative area of Charentsavan.
According to Shamshyan.com, it was determined that the driver of a BMW X5, with license plate number 50 OT 101, collided with the rear of a KamAZ truck carrying diesel fuel while heading towards Sevan.
As a result of the collision, a fire broke out in the vehicle, and the BMW X5 was completely reduced to a pile of ashes. Firefighters, while extinguishing the flames, discovered the driver's charred body inside the vehicle. Rescuers removed the body using special equipment and found license plates during their search of the vehicle, suggesting that the driver had removed the rear plates and hidden them in the trunk.
According to sources, the vehicle had been rented. Medical personnel from Charentsavan Hospital, who promptly arrived at the scene, provided first aid to the driver of the KamAZ before transporting him to the hospital.
