Video: Senior Officers of the NSS Received Large Bribe – Details from the NSS
The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia has disclosed a case of bribery committed by a senior employee of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) as part of its ongoing efforts to combat corruption. According to preliminary information from the NSS press service, an official of the SRC in the Armavir region demanded and received a substantial bribe of 1,000,000 AMD from the director of a company involved in the sale of automotive channels in exchange for not conducting legally mandated inspections, failing to record tax violations, and not carrying out inspection visits.
Additionally, operational data have been received indicating that employees responsible for this company acquired used or unknown origin vehicles and various types of oils used in their operation from unidentified sources. These oils were mixed with other oils and repackaged in containers labeled with recognized brands for sale. During a search of the company’s storage area, numerous containers of varying sizes filled with oils bearing labels from well-known brands such as “Mobile,” “Lukoil,” “Gazpromneft,” and others were discovered, along with equipment for preparing and packaging oils, as well as unused labels.
In the office of the company’s director, a homemade revolver classified as a firearm was also found, illegally stored and loaded with military-grade 9mm ammunition. Following the alleged criminal incident, a criminal case has been initiated in the investigative department of the NSS in accordance with relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and charges have been brought against two individuals. An investigation is underway.
