Stepanakert Has a New Mayor

Local government elections were held yesterday in the 228 communities of Artsakh. According to preliminary data from the Artsakh Central Electoral Commission, Davit Sargsyan has won the mayoral election in Stepanakert, receiving 7,787 votes. It is noteworthy that there were five candidates for mayor: Areg Avagyan, who gathered 3,125 votes; Arayik Avanesyan, with 2,108 votes; Armen Hakobyan, who received 3,059 votes; and Grigori Sahakyan, with 4,765 votes.
