British Parliament Officially Suspends Work
The UK Parliament will officially suspend its work on September 9 until October 14. This will be the longest suspension of Parliament in modern history, according to Sky News citing a representative from Downing Street.
The Parliament will cease its functions at the end of the working day. Downing Street has called for a vote in favor of holding early elections to "give the public an opportunity to make a decision." The suspension of Parliament was initiated by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. According to his plan, lawmakers will not work from September 9 until October 14 when the Queen is scheduled to address MPs, outlining the government's new priorities.
