Local Self-Government Elections Begin in Artsakh with 415 Candidates

Today at 8:00 AM, polling stations opened in Artsakh, marking the start of local self-government elections. The polling stations will close at 8:00 PM.

It is noteworthy that 415 candidates have been nominated across 228 communities and the capital city of Stepanakert.

There are five candidates for the mayor of Stepanakert: self-nominated David Sargsyan, Armen Hakobyan, Grigor Sahakyan, Areg Avagyan, and Arayik Avanesyan, who is nominated by the "Identity and Unity" party. David Sargsyan is a businessman, director of "Consult Finance Group" LLC, and president of the Artsakh Kickboxing Federation. Armen Hakobyan serves as the deputy mayor of Stepanakert. Grigor Sahakyan is a former commander of the "Haykaz" unit with 27 years of field command experience. Areg Avagyan is the head of the Gas Transport System Operations Service of Artsakhgaz, and Arayik Avanesyan is one of the co-founders of the "Identity and Unity" party.
