Pashinyan's Speech at Mansuryan's Jubilee Concert
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, accompanied by his daughters, attended a concert dedicated to the film music of composer and People's Artist of Armenia Tigran Mansuryan at the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
Pashinyan also delivered a congratulatory speech, noting that the perception of Mansuryan's character requires a certain re-evaluation, as his achievements are not merely gifts of fortune but victories over destiny. He remarked, 'A man born in Lebanon, as a refugee with hopes for a better life, found himself in the Soviet Armenia and faced an extremely challenging social situation, and from that point he was able to rise to the horizon of creative glory.'
The Prime Minister emphasized this story as an important example for people: 'This story is important to me not for defining Tigran Mansuryan, but to show people that there is a way to overcome one's own despair, helplessness, and feelings of being at a dead end, and that a person is strong enough to overcome a destiny imposed by others, to surpass oneself, and to rise above the judgment of defeat. His character should help others overcome despair and gain confidence in their own strength.'
Pashinyan also highlighted that Mansuryan's music provides strength, optimism, and a sense of unity: 'Maestro, I want to thank you for that sense of unity you have bestowed upon us and future generations. I pay my respects to you, Maestro! I want to thank you for the unity and sense of togetherness you have provided for generations, and I bow before you, before your life, your journey, and your character today, an undeniable authority, undeniable morality, and undeniable respect.'
It should be noted that the concert was held as part of the 'Maestro Mansuryan-80' concert series, dedicated to Tigran Mansuryan's 80th anniversary. Works showcasing the film music of the master of Armenian classical music were performed by a symphony orchestra.
