People in Artsakh are the same, it’s here that has changed, and if there is tension, it’s from this side. Levon Kocharyan

On the occasion of the 28th anniversary of Artsakh's independence, supporters of Armenia's second president, Robert Kocharyan, who is in custody due to the March 1 case, visited the Yerablur Military Pantheon to pay their respects to the memory of fallen heroes.

Robert Kocharyan’s son, Levon Kocharyan, was also at Yerablur. In a conversation with reporters, he first congratulated everyone on the occasion of Artsakh's independence day and stated, "We are celebrating 28 years. If we go back 100 years, this is the greatest victory of the Armenian people. I agree with those expressions that the former presidents of Artsakh and Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, are currently detained on this day. However, since this concerns my father, it might be interpreted differently when I say it. We have repeatedly emphasized that what is happening is disgraceful and unacceptable, especially considering that man's role in our history, the independence of Artsakh, and many of our achievements."

Regarding potential tensions in the Artsakh-Armenia relationship, Levon Kocharyan stated that it is evident, noting that there have been many instances that demonstrate this tension: "Of course, it is sad; everything must be done to ensure that there is no tension, but it is noticeable. This is discussed both in Artsakh and in Armenia, but everything must be done to prevent it."

As for what might cause the emergence of tension, Levon Kocharyan mentioned that it is the lack of trust and sincerity between the leadership. "The people there are the same; the people here have changed, and if there is tension, then it is from this side."
