The Human Rights Defender Takes Steps Regarding the Lack of Drinking Water in Arjis Village

Since early morning, the office of the Human Rights Defender has been monitoring a protest in the village of Arjis in the Tavush region due to the lack of drinking water. This was reported by the public relations department of the Human Rights Defender’s office.

The office discussed the issue with the Regional Administration, the head of the Ayruy consolidated community, and a representative of the village's administrative district.

It has been clarified to the Human Rights Defender’s office that measures are being taken for both temporary and long-term solutions to the problem. In particular, according to the information received at this time, the possibility of providing water to the village from a water pipeline serving another nearby community is being discussed, as well as the potential construction of a new pump station and internal water supply network as a fundamental solution.

The Human Rights Defender will take necessary steps within its jurisdiction, including requests for written clarifications.
