96% of Forest Fires are Caused by Humans: Erik Grigoryan

Several dozen medium and large fires have been extinguished in the Syunik region thanks to enormous efforts. This was stated by the Minister of Environment, Erik Grigoryan, on his Facebook page.

"Several dozen medium and large fires have been extinguished in the Syunik region with the huge efforts of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Environment (branches of Hayantar in Kapan and Goris, the Zangezur biosphere complex, and the subordinate Arevik National Park), the Syunik regional administration, the police, local self-governance bodies, and concerned citizens.
Note: According to statistics, 96% of forest fires are human-caused (negligence or intentional)," he wrote.
