Will Pashinyan and Trump Meet? Zohrabyan Discusses the Prime Minister's Visit to the U.S.
The possibility of a meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, has not yet been confirmed. This was announced today by Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan after the government session.
“The meeting with President Trump and Secretary Pompeo is included in our foreign policy agenda. It will happen when it happens,” the minister stated.
In response to a journalist's observation that the Armenian diplomatic corps is struggling to arrange a meeting for Pashinyan with U.S. leaders, Mnatsakanyan disagreed, stating, “They are mistaken.”
“We have not had a meeting with Trump and Pompeo, but that does not diminish the level of our relations with the U.S.,” Mnatsakanyan added.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Pashinyan is scheduled to visit the U.S. for the United Nations General Assembly on September 22. He will meet with the Armenian community at 4:00 PM Los Angeles time.
