The Government Has Not Established Itself, It Is in a Confusing Situation. This Is a 'Failure'. Stepan Margaryan
I understand the people who are dissatisfied, who are in the streets, because you don’t know whom to trust. This was stated by former MP Stepan Margaryan in an interview with Tert.am while discussing the exploitation of the Amulsar mine.
“Since the change of government, the authorities have lied so much to solve the issue at that moment that I don’t even know whether to believe them or not,” he said, noting that the Amulsar issue is one of the lies. According to him, there may be external pressure on the authorities or there is a corrupt scheme, which is why they are in favor of the mine's exploitation.
“I understand the people who are dissatisfied, who are in the streets, because you don’t know whom to trust. What was the need for this whole show, which later led to street tensions? Against it is society, which is not just composed of people lacking literacy; there are thinking, intelligent people, and experts who understand,” Margaryan noted. “I haven’t understood why the mine exploitation has now become safe; I haven’t understood,” he emphasized.
When asked about opinions suggesting that the current government inherited a heavy legacy, Stepan Margaryan remarked that it is not an excuse. “If it was bad during the previous government, I am not obliged to live poorly now as well. What is the difference?”
According to him, questions like these are lowering the government’s approval ratings, as an administration without a program cannot establish itself. “You cannot declare that we will come to power, we will present a program. A year has passed, and I don’t know what they have done. They haven’t said anything that I could know they haven’t done anything. The government has not established itself; it is in a confusing situation. This is a ‘failure,’” Margaryan stated.
