Armenians in the U.S. Sue Turkey Over Visa Denial

Armenian-American citizens 88-year-old Parghev Ghazaryan and his son Karo Ghazaryan have filed a lawsuit against Turkey for not granting them a visa. The Ghazaryans aimed to visit their ancestral village in their historical homeland.

Parghev Ghazaryan was born in 1931 in the village of Kaladuran, Turkey. In 2017, he decided to travel to Turkey and visit his hometown. “Parghev Ghazaryan applied at the Turkish embassy in Washington, stating his nationality and religion, as well as the purpose of his visit,” reports Asbarez.

The Turkish embassy rejected Ghazaryan's application, citing his Armenian origin as the reason.
