Mercedes C 200 Rolls Over and Catches Fire on Yerevan-Ijevan Highway, Injuries Reported

On August 18, at 12:57 PM, the emergency service received a call about a traffic accident with a fire outbreak on the road from Haghartsin village in Tavush province to Teghut village. The vehicle rolled into a nearby gorge, requiring rescue assistance.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a firefighting-rescue unit from the regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that at the 106th km of the Yerevan-Ijevan highway, a Mercedes C 200 vehicle (driver: Hovhannes E., born in 1982) had left the road, overturned, and caught fire.

The fire was contained by 1:37 PM and extinguished by 2:11 PM. Before the rescuers arrived, the vehicle's driver and passengers, David B. (born in 1989) and Hovhannes K. (born in 1989), were hospitalized at Dilijan Medical Center.
