Pilot and Hero of Russia Damir Yusupov Opens Match in Russian Football Championship

Today, pilot and Hero of Russia Damir Yusupov opened the match between Ural and Krylia Sovetov in the Russian football championship with a symbolic kick. The entire stadium welcomed the aircraft commander and his crew with a standing ovation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin honored the pilots for their heroism. The commander of the aircraft and the co-pilot were awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation, while all crew members received the Medal of Valor.
