Russian Gas to Arrive in Turkey by Year-End
According to Ermenihaber.am, the Turkish state news agency Anadolu reports that Russian gas will reach Turkey by the end of 2019 as part of the "TurkStream" project. Currently, construction work on the gas pipeline continues in the Thrace region, in the coastal town of Kıyıköy by the Black Sea. It is noted that 95 percent of the work has already been completed.
Construction work on the gas terminal in Kıyıköy is nearing completion, which will provide more than 700 jobs. Before the gas supply begins, the volumetric and qualitative characteristics of the gas will be measured at the terminal.
The "TurkStream" is expected to supply 31.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually. Russian gas will reach Europe through the second pipeline of the "TurkStream," which consists of two gas lines. After the completion of construction work at the Kıyıköy terminal, Russian gas is set to arrive in Turkey by the year's end.
