China Sends Troops to Hong Kong Border, Says Donald Trump
American intelligence has information indicating that Chinese authorities are sending troops to the borders of the special autonomous region of Hong Kong. This was posted on Twitter by U.S. President Donald Trump.
“Our intelligence has informed us that the Chinese government is sending troops to the Hong Kong border. Everyone should remain calm and be cautious,” the president wrote.
“Many are blaming me and the U.S. for the issues that exist in Hong Kong. Why? I can't even imagine,” he added.
Earlier, media reports indicated a massive buildup of military equipment in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, which is located not far from the Hong Kong border. The official version claims that forces are concentrated for a large-scale exercise and to ensure security during the construction of a local sports arena.
