I Am a Soldier and I Have Followed Orders: Movses Hakobyan

“I am a soldier and I have followed orders,” Movses Hakobyan responded during an interview with Azatutyun, commenting on the circumstances of bringing troops from Artsakh to Armenia during the March 2008 events.

As it has become clear from the published interrogation of General Samvel Karapetyan, on February 23, 2008, 300 soldiers were brought from various units in Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia, followed by another 400 soldiers. In the same interrogation, General Karapetyan notes that during that period, the Armenian side lost positions in Artsakh which were later regained.

During those days, the Minister of Defense of Artsakh and currently the Chief Military Inspector of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Movses Hakobyan, responded that it is necessary to understand why materials considered confidential concerning the preliminary investigation have been made public.

In the same interrogation, Samvel Karapetyan stated that he had received instructions from the operational headquarters but does not know where it was located. Movses Hakobyan also stated that he has no information regarding the operational headquarters.
