The wealth of the world’s 25 richest families has increased by 24% over the past year, approaching $1.4 trillion. This is highlighted in a ranking published by Bloomberg.
In first place is the Walton family, which manages the largest supermarket chain in the world, Walmart. Their total wealth amounts to $191 billion. The family’s fortune has grown by $70,000 per minute, $4 million per hour, and $100 million per day over the past year. Overall, the family’s wealth increased by $39 billion in 12 months.
In second place are the heirs of Frank Mars, who founded the Mars candy company in the early 20th century. Their fortune has grown by $37 billion in a year, reaching $126.5 billion.
In third place are Charles and David Koch, with a wealth of $125 billion, running Koch Industries.
