Storks Are Bathed Today in the Village of Hovtashen

The head of the Hovtashen community in the Ararat Province, Suren Mkrtchyan, spoke with SHANTNEWS.am today about the results of cleaning the village's storks, noting that everything has been done to restore the natural life of the birds.

“Environmentalists and the relevant authorities are united in fighting to clean up the pollution, to remove the oily layer, and to return the birds to their natural habitat. Measures were taken, and after we saw that they were exhausted, we negotiated with specialists to develop a feeding regimen. We started feeding them, and they survived until this cleaning process. They were approaching, coming to us for food, looking for feed on the streets as if asking for help, and today they received that help,” said the village mayor.

He also mentioned an interesting new letter that had been received, which is an indication of citizens' concerns and has been asked to be handed over to the leader of the bathing group. The letter is marked as follows: “Armenia, site of injured storks, village of Hovtashen.” Previously, we reported that a criminal case had been initiated regarding the pollution of the storks.
