Minor Driver Assaults Police Officer in Stepanavan

According to Tert.am, an incident occurred yesterday in Stepanavan between the grandfather of a minor citizen and a police officer. While on patrol, the officer noticed that the driver was underage and requested relevant documents from him.

The minor stated that the documents were at home, prompting the police officer to accompany him to his residence to verify the documents.

Once they arrived, the grandfather of the minor told the officer that he had no documents to show, then proceeded to pull him and subsequently assaulted him.

Tert.am requested clarification regarding the incident from the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia, where it was reported that an official record of the incident exists. “Based on this, the prosecutor of the Lori Province has instructed the Investigative Committee to prepare materials, and a forensic examination has been appointed,” stated Arevik Khachatryan, the head of the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor's Office.
