Do Not Seek the Services of Self-Proclaimed 'Doctors' and Healers, Warns Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health of Armenia reports that recently a 1 year and 8 months old child was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Radiological Medicine and Burns Scientific Center with burns covering almost 15% of their body surface area. The child suffered the burns on August 1 but the parents did not seek medical assistance, instead opting for home treatment using an ointment prepared by an unknown source under domestic conditions.

As a result of this decision, the child's condition deteriorated, prompting the parents to visit a local polyclinic. The local doctor provided them with a referral to continue treatment in a hospital setting, but the parents again did not approach a medical facility and continued using the same 'method' for treatment.

The child's condition continued to worsen, and it was only on August 4 that they sought help at the Radiological Medicine and Burns Scientific Center, where the child was immediately hospitalized in the intensive care unit. Upon admission, the child's health was assessed as extremely serious, with consciousness clouded and almost no contact.

Doctors are actively working to stabilize the child's condition, and they have now transferred the child to the 'Holy Mother of God' Medical Center.

To prevent such cases, the Ministry of Health warns the public not to delay seeking medical assistance for any health issues. Under no circumstances should one consult self-proclaimed 'doctors' or healers.
