Vardenis Mayor Injured in Car Accident in Georgia
According to ArmDaily.am, Vardenis Mayor Aram Melkonyan was recently involved in a car accident in Georgia. He had traveled to Batumi to support the Vardenis team during an international dance festival.
The Vardenis team secured first place at the festival. On their way back to Armenia, Melkonyan was driving his brother's Kia Rio, which had just been brought from Russia.
While overtaking, a vehicle driven by an Azerbaijani, carrying two families, abruptly entered Melkonyan's path. In an attempt to avoid a collision, Melkonyan swerved and ended up in a forest where there was a reservoir surrounded by trees.
The car struck the wall of the reservoir and was turned into a metal wreck. In addition to the mayor, the vehicle also contained a dance instructor who suffered multiple injuries, and Arman Arshakyan, the director of Veolia Water's Vardenis branch, who partially lost an ear and sustained head injuries. Melkonyan himself received injuries to the head.
