Anti-Revolutionary Elements in Artsakh Are Once Again in Search Today: Statement
The office of Artsakh hero, Lieutenant General Samvel Babayan, has issued a statement: "Anti-revolutionary elements in Artsakh are once again in search today. Those who see no authority beyond their own noses, glued to the power seats, have left their anti-revolutionary surroundings to seek a counter-revolution in a place where only the national spirit prevails, and respect for each individual of the nation and every millimeter of the homeland is cherished.
I believe it is unnecessary to remind that one of the most prominent proponents of the idea of Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora unity has been and continues to be Samvel Babayan. Therefore, flooding the internet with these baseless and incompetent analyses of so-called analysts ahead of this crucial day for Armenia and Artsakh will not yield any positive results. Samvel Babayan, as an individual and a statesman, does not represent any group's positions. His ideological views excel in serving his people through his own intellect.
Samvel Babayan has always been a unifier both during and after the war. He is estranged from instigating inter-ethnic divisions. He has never opposed either the authorities of the Republic of Armenia or those of Artsakh. When the moment of tension or opposition arises, Samvel Babayan has distanced himself, dissipating any intra-political tension, as evidenced by what happened in 1999.
He has never destabilized the country for personal gain; instead, he preferred to leave his position and not cling to a chair. Today, nothing has changed; he did not come for chair struggles; he came to contribute to the well-being of Artsakh, its prosperity, the elevation of its political role, and ensuring security. If these analytical pieces are intended to understand Samvel Babayan's position regarding the gathering scheduled for August 5, let us hasten to inform the anti-revolutionary circles that Samvel Babayan's team and supporters will participate in the gathering in Renaissance Square on August 5, where the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia will address the audience. Our team unequivocally supports those forces that spare no effort in taking steps to promote the integration of our two states," the statement reads.
