Video: Explosive Installed Under Bridge on Yerevan-Sevan Road Remotely Activated

Explosive placed under the bridge on the Yerevan-Sevan road was remotely activated from a nearby inactive restaurant complex, as reported by the Armenian Police.

On August 2, around 12:20 PM, the Kotayk Police received a call about an explosion on the 18th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan road, which damaged a Range Rover and a Nissan Patrol that were traveling at the time. Operational groups of law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene to carry out the necessary actions and measures.

Through operational investigative measures conducted by police officers in the nearby area, it was determined that the explosive under the bridge was remotely activated from a nearby inactive restaurant complex. During an inspection of one of the building's rooms, technical means intended for remote detonation were discovered.

A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of attempted murder. Following broad operational and investigative measures by the police, the National Security Service, and the Investigative Committee, operational information was obtained regarding the identities of individuals suspected of committing the crime.

Several hours after the incident, three men were identified and detained by the Kotayk Police in the capital city on reasonable suspicion. Operational investigative measures and inquiries continue to clarify all circumstances of the incident.
