Kazakhstan to Legalize Car Purchases from Armenia
If the population wishes to buy such vehicles, there is no need to struggle; instead, it should be made legal so that our citizens do not face issues with the law enforcement agencies tomorrow. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan, Amaniyaz Yerzhanov, during a conversation with journalists.
Yerzhanov added, “We are aware through our informational channels that around 60,000 cars have been brought from the USA to Armenia. To purchase these vehicles, our citizens obtain temporary residency in Armenia, and the cars are bought as if they are Armenian citizens, meaning without paying additional customs duties, and then they are brought to Kazakhstan and driven with Armenian license plates. There is no need to purchase cars in Armenia by getting temporary registration and importing them into our country with transit plates; it is better to bring them, register them, and drive them legally. As it stands, they are not paying taxes either here or there.”
